Gippsland Water delivers reliable, high-quality water, wastewater and waste recovery services to ensure social, environmental and economic benefits to domestic and commercial clients across Central Gippsland. The region supports a population of approximately 140,000 people and
Gippsland Water provides water services to nearly 64,000 properties and wastewater services to around 54,000 properties.
The organisation’s IT infrastructure comprises a primary data centre at the Traralgon office and a secondary data centre in the town of Morwell.
The project
In 2014 Gippsland Water infrastructure platform was due for a refresh as part of their four-yearly refresh program. Gippsland Water was looking for an effective way to upgrade their data centre platform. The requirement included data storage capacity and performance, more efficient process and procedures for data back-up/recovery and disaster recovery.
How Onel worked with the project
Onel was appointed as Infrastructure Specialists for the data centre infrastructure refresh. The team worked with Gippsland Water to determine the best technology and equipment that would support the business. Then worked to design and implement the new storage solution and integrate it with the environment.
Onel completed health checks for Gippsland Water’s back up and disaster recovery systems to identify improvements required and implemented solutions that were affordable, efficient and reliable. In addition to simplifying the data protection and recovery processes.
